How can obesity ever "bankrupt" a taxpayer funded organisation like the NHS?
It may place new burdens on the NHS, but it could always be funded either by withdrawing other treatments or through more increases in general taxation.

The nhs does subsidise the unhealthy and thus activiely promotes unhealthy lifestyles.
