George Osborne recently asked the public where the spending axe should fall...
It's simple, Wales & Scotland. English taxpayers should stop subsidising the perks available to Welsh or Scottish voters but are denied to them such as free NHS prescriptions for all, free hospital parking and lower tuition fees.
Besides, Welsh and Scottish voters overwhelmingly supported the destruction of the British economy by voting Labour en-masse so they should overwhelming pay the bill!

Still not NICE!
Has the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice) ever approved a treatment rejected by the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC)?
"The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice) has ruled that Tocilizumab was too costly for NHS patients south of the border. However, the body's Scottish equivalent has recommended patients in Scotland be treated with the drug. "

Dunfermline Rebuilding Society!
Why should English taxpayers be expected to save another failed Scottish financial institution?

University of England
Will English Universities be better than their Scottish or Welsh counterparts if tuition fees are allowed to increase beyond their current £3,000 limit!?!

English Oscars?
How did the English do at the Oscars yesterday!?!
Gordon Brown, the Prime Minister, hailed a "great night" for Britain in Hollywood. "I would like to congratulate Danny Boyle and all those who worked on Slumdog Millionaire on winning an incredible eight Academy Awards," he said.

No such thing as a free lunch!
Why spend £40m offering free school meals to Scottish primary children when it only increases the take up of meals by just 21%!?!
53% of parents who were already paying for school dinners!

Good news!
Scrapping prescription charges for English cancer patients will mean they have more money to pay for hospital parking fees unlike cancer patients in Scotland or Wales where parking is free!

Stiff the English!
If 170 lives could be saved each year from 2011 when all Scottish men over 65 will be screened for aortic aneurisms, how many lives could be saved if the programme was rolled out in England too!?!

BBC Wales, Scotland and little England!
Why assume that 51m English people want to know what 5m Scots or 3m Welsh people are getting up to on the BBC news each day?
Do people living in Dover and Folkstone need more BBC news coverage about what's happening in France!?!
I'm quite happy for Wales and Scotland to be "far off countries of which I know little" to paraphrase Chamberlain as it only makes me angry to know how my taxes are spent on luxuries denied to me in England!

Social Care
As Scottish Prime Minister Gordon Brown has no responsibility for social care provision in Scotland since devolution, why is he worried about social care in Britain as opposed to just England!?!
PS Number crunching!
£6bn social care shortfall in England within 20 years.
£6bn Annual UK contribution to the European Union from 2011.

Playing the council tax card?
Will any of the major political parties be fighting May's local elections with promises of reducing council tax?
If council tax reductions are not popular, why has Scotland frozen council tax rises this year!?!

Free NHS parking
Could free car-parking at English NHS hospitals be subsidised by the forecast £1.8bn English NHS surplus this year!?!
"We don't think it makes sense to spend money that's currently being spent on patient care - getting people treated faster and better - on subsidising car parks. " - Ben Bradshaw, Health Minister.

Free the English!
Are any services free in England that Scottish or Welsh citizens have to pay for in their own countries!?!

More English and less Scottish!
[English] Council tax 'set to rise by 4%' [in 2008].
[Scottish] Local authorities 'to freeze tax' [in 2008].
The English are paying even more for even less!

Culture Vultures?
How will English school children get their fix of "high culture" when so many English venues have just lost their government funding!?!
The Department for Children, Schools and Families says each child will have access to "at least five hours of high-quality culture per week".

Scottish Toll Free Roads
Why should English taxpayers be funding the Forth and Tay road bridges rather than Scottish drivers?
"Scotland now has no chargeable roads. Funding for both bridges will now be provided entirely by the Scottish Government."
Apart from private toll roads, are the only chargeable roads exclusively English!?! The westbound Severn river crossings, the M6 toll road and London congestion zone?

Careless England

Why are the disabled and elderly struggling to receive social care in England when it's free in Scotland!?!
What are the Conservative Party doing to highlight and challenge this gross injustice!?!

University of life?
Will lecturers sacrifice some of their recent pay increases so that English undergraduates don't face tuition fees of upto £7,000 per year!?!
"Around 12,000 staff earn top salaries [ of more than £50,000] compared to just 2,000 a decade ago."

Scotched Police?
If Scottish Police have received the full 2.5% pay rise as agreed through arbitration, why do they need to consider strike action!?!
"Every police officer in the UK is to be balloted over whether they want to lobby for the right to strike."

Recycled Rubbish?
Did Welsh and Scottish MPs vote on whether English councils should be given the power of "pay-as-you-throw" rubbish charges?
Whatever happened to the BBC 'exclusive' that such plans had been shelved just one week earlier!?!
