Would politicians be less keen on the European Union if allowances were not so lucrative!?!
PS Has Peter Mandelson still got a £373,000 home loan!?!

Crushing EU expansion?
How many more Irish voters would have said "No" to the Lisbon treaty if they had known that their vote would prevent Turkey from joining the European Union!?!
Why do European heads of state assume that the people they supposedly represent are in favour of further EU expansion!?!
"Without the Treaty of Lisbon there won't be any enlargement." - French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

A plague upon both their houses!
How ironic that whilst UK troops are fighting and dying for "democracy" in Afghanistan and Iraq, the UK ratifies the Lisbon treaty without the promised referendum!

Money, money, money!
Would the EU still need to take action over Britain's budget deficit if Government spending had "more foresight, better business planning and some common sense"!?!
"The Home Office has been criticised by a group of MPs for spending £29m on an asylum accommodation centre which was never even built."
"The Ministry of Defence has been accused of a "gold standard cock-up" over eight helicopters which have cost £422m but have yet to fly for the RAF."

Social Care
As Scottish Prime Minister Gordon Brown has no responsibility for social care provision in Scotland since devolution, why is he worried about social care in Britain as opposed to just England!?!
PS Number crunching!
£6bn social care shortfall in England within 20 years.
£6bn Annual UK contribution to the European Union from 2011.

Benefits of the European Union?
Australia deports UK paedophile
Serial paedophile Raymond Horne, reportedly moved from the UK to Queensland in 1952 aged five and started offending in the 60s.
Lawrence killer wins bid to stay
"Although [ ] born in Italy, Chindamo has lived in the UK since the age of six." It would be "disproportionate" to deport him after he completes his sentence for the murder of Philip Lawrence.

Manifesto commitments
Lords back down on glorification
Charles Clarke warned peers that Labour had made a manifesto commitment to outlaw the glorification of terrorist attacks and intended "to honour it".
MPs reject EU treaty referendum.
The three main UK political parties promised a public vote on the EU Constitution in their 2005 general election manifestos.

You, EU unskilled worker!
If unskilled workers from outside the EU should be barred from the UK for the "forseeable future", would unskilled workers from within the EU be barred in an ideal world!?!

Cheese eating bankrupt monkeys?

Is the French Government allowed to threaten action against a hostile take over of Societe Generale under European Union law!?!
Some cynics might suggest the French would ignore any EU legislation conflicting with their national interest!

EU feeling faint?
How much power has Britain given away following the signing of the Lisbon Treaty just last week!?!
Plans to end health queues in EU
"The European Commission will propose that any EU citizen should be entitled to care elsewhere, if the treatment is allowed in their own state."

Food for thought?
Will large increases in world food prices lead to large cuts in European food subsidies!?!
Why aren't farmers the greatest beneficiaries of 40% price increases rather than the greatest victims!?!
"Without support for poor farmers and their families in the hardest-hit countries, they will not be able to cope" - FAO Director-General Jacques Diouf.

Recycled Rubbish?
Did Welsh and Scottish MPs vote on whether English councils should be given the power of "pay-as-you-throw" rubbish charges?
Whatever happened to the BBC 'exclusive' that such plans had been shelved just one week earlier!?!

EU knows
When will the UK follow the European Union's policy on freezing payments to regions with poor management and control systems and freeze UK contributions to the European Union?
"An English region could be fined heavily by the European Commission over its handling of £500m worth of European Union regeneration funding.
When the UK Government failed to put its house in order, Brussels decided to freeze further payments to the six English regions concerned. "
Auditors give EU accounts their 12th qualification
"The court said much EU spending in 2005 had not involved proper invoices, correctly paid bills and the selection of best-value suppliers.
Indeed, using random sampling methods, it found errors - from delayed payments and incomplete documentation to outright fraud in transactions - affecting 66% of the 115bn euro EU budget."

When will HM Government rebrand itself HM Executive as it's powers are increasingly usurped by the European Union!?!
