The UK economy and the government's tax receipts have been boosted massively in recent year[sic] by immigrants, especially from Eastern Europe, according to economists of the Ernst & Young ITEM club

Has Government expenditure been boosted massively in recent years by immigrants, especially from Eastern Europe?

You could import 10 billion paying 10p tax each and it would be a massive benefit. Some day it may permeate through their thick skulls that citizens only benefit if there is a net increase in national income PER HEAD that is more than enough to compensate for the diminution in our quality of life.
