"Victory for working people"

How can Derek Simpson, general secretary of Amicus, describe a rise in the state pension age to 68 as a "victory for working people"?

Public sector workers can still look forward to retiring at 60 generously funded by private sector workers out of their taxes.

Nah, that's not right, you haven't reproduced all of Simpson's quote....

He actually said "This is a victory for working people in the public sector, knowing that our members will be subbed via those sweat monkeys in the private sector, toiling away til they're 68.... Kerrrching!!!!"
