Effective rate of tax for higher rate employees is 47% once you include Ee's and Er's National Insurance.

For the self-employed who are over the VAT threshold it's nearly 50%.

So wouldn't it be more lucrative to legalise drugs and tax their profits as normal?

I would like to get into drugs, people trafficing or credit card fraud as they seem like secure and profitable careers with little risk. Is there a government employment scheme that will advise me?

Maybe make the drug dealers pay tax on their earnings?

Taxation is just a sophisticated way of demanding money with menaces.

Every penny you earn and everything you buy has that little bit extra extorted from you without the opportunity to do anything about it.
