House of cards?

ID cards will be "security accredited to the highest standard" to prevent the information falling into the hands of terrorists or criminals. - James Hall, chief executive of the Identity and Passport Service.

Data will be held across three existing IT systems, including the Department of Work and Pensions' (DWP) Customer Information Service, which holds national insurance records.

In other news:

The DWP have sent the bank and personal details of thousands of pensioners to the wrong addresses!

Is it true that staff at the Department of Work and Pensions sent out pensioners bank details to a random selection of addresses in order to earn the same level of incompetence bonus that their colleagues at the Child Support Agency are enjoying?

I assume the value of this information is limited to criminals as the majority of these pensioners will presumably have very little money in their accounts!

Anonymous, how much bonus would have been paid if the CSA had been successful?

To be fair to CSA staff, I have no problem rewarding low grade staff with bonuses for 'performance' in their particular areas as they are not responsible for systemic failings in the organisation unlike management grades!
