Number Crunching

21,000 complaints: Enough to condemn Channel 4's 'Big Brother' as racist despite protestations that there had been "no overt racial abuse or racist behaviour".

45,000 complaints: Not enough to condemn BBC's 'Jerry Springer - The Opera' as blasphemous.

BB complaints could well outnumber Jerry Springer yet.

How many of the 21,000 complaints concerned Jeraime Jackson's assertion that Jade Goody's Mum was "White trash"?

It's not the number of complainants - it's the nature of the complaint itself.

'Racism' - real or imagined - is crime of the century.

Religious hatred is also a crime - but to what extent it's a crime depends on the religion being offended. Christianity is at the back of the pecking order.
