Second longest suicide note in history?

Do any of George Osborne's tax proposals reward hard work, effort and thrift!?!
  • Public sector pay freeze in 2011 - except frontline military or people on less than £18,000
  • Keep 50p top tax rate for now
  • End Child Trust Funds for all but the poorest families
  • No tax credits for families earning over £50,000
  • Threat of tax on bank bonuses
  • Crackdown on Whitehall salaries - anyone wanting to pay more than the PM needs Treasury approval
  • Restore pensions and earnings link
  • Rise in state pension age

It seems like this could be the second longest suicide note in history!

Some guilty savers?

If savers are the "innocent victims" of the downturn, why should higher rate taxpayers be singled out for punishment under Conservative proposals to reduce income tax for lower rate savers only!?!

How do these Conservative tax proposals cut red tape and bureaucracy!?!

Tax cuts

Does George Osborne understand why taxes should be cut or is merely playing to the gallery!?!

If he promised to increase the basic personal allowance to #10,000 and scrap Gordon's tax credits, he would galvanise support!

Labour "fears" about how such tax cuts would be funded can be easily rebuffed - increase borrowing;)

Tories want to come second?

How many businesses can vote in elections? So why are Tories offering tax cuts for businesses rather than individuals!?!
They seem intent on coming second at the next election!

Seen it all now!

Tories warn over Brown tax cuts

What does George Osborne, the Shadow Chancellor, think about the proposals!?! Is he stuck on board a yacht!?!

The BBC quotes Shadow Defence (!) Secretary Liam Fox whilst Sky news was interviewing Shadow Foreign (!) Secretary William Hague!

Chinese walls

Why will it take at least three years for Britain to stop sending aid to China when they can afford to send three astronauts into space for a spacewalk and spend £20bn on the Olympics!?!

When will China start sending aid to Britain!?!

The Office of Tax Simplification

New Conservative proposals on tax include bureaucrats looking at ways to reduce bureaucracy!

"Read my lips, no new stealth taxes"!?!

Conservative tax rises?

If David Cameron is unable to offer the electorate any immediate tax cuts following a Conservative general election victory, why bother highlighting how Labour have increased taxes time and time again!?!

"High debt, high interest rates, high taxes -- and now lower growth. Those are the facts that this budget cannot hide" - David Cameron, Wednesday, March 12th.

Tory tax cuts

Will George Osborne, shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, ever call for income tax cuts to "revive the economy" rather than cuts in corporation tax?

Businesses cannot to vote at General Elections! By contrast, the Liberal Democrats are offering the electorate a 4p cut in income tax!

Careless England

Why are the disabled and elderly struggling to receive social care in England when it's free in Scotland!?!

What are the Conservative Party doing to highlight and challenge this gross injustice!?!

Sharp Elbowed Middle Classes?

Will Michael Gove's "sharp elbowed middle class parents" use the new league table of gifted pupils to identify the best schools for their little darlings!?!

Can we assume Michael Gove doesn't want the "sharp elbowed middle class" to vote Conservative!?!

Buying votes with other people's money?

If David Cameron really wants to help householders facing sharp increases in their mortgage payments next year, why not offer the electorate tax cuts!?!

Correct Grammar?

If Grammar schools are "ghettos for the advantaged" that are "potentially beneficial" for those attending from higher and lower income groups, when will the Conservative Party offer to create more of them?

Conviction Politics!

Will David Cameron call for rape suspects to remain anonymous until conviction and also call for increased sentences for women who cry rape or is he just trying to woo the female vote!?!

Conservative bounce?

Was the Conservative bounce in the polls caused by a promise to cut inheritance tax or "substantially lower" immigration?

Has Labour copied the wrong Conservative policy!?!

Another Brown vision?

Why does the BBC omit reporting that Gordon Brown was the architect of the "harsh and unfair" tax credits system?

Would the Conservative abolition of tax credits and an increase in everyones personal tax allowance be electorally popular if half of claimaints were put off making future claims?

Political Inheritances

Why do incoming Conservative governments always inherit a failing UK economy and then have to spend their first term in office fixing it!?!

Wednesday, October 03, 2007

Conservative Canutes?

How can the Conservative Party reduce immigration from within the European Union!?!

"unchecked immigration is not inevitable...not the irresistible result of globalisation. We can control it. We will control it" - David Davis, shadow home secretary.

"Canute is legendary for his apparent attempt to "hold back the tide". Canute deliberately placed his throne on the beach and used his evident inability to order the tide to roll back to display to his courtiers the limitations of a king's power to command the seas."

Conservative Tax Increases

Why do the Conservatives insist on paying for tax cuts by increasing taxes elsewhere rather than promising to cut welfare benefits and make work pay!?!

If promised cuts in stamp duty for first time buyers means increased taxes elsewhere, the Conservatives are promising to increase taxes for the vast majority of the electorate!
