Woolworths

Would that "noblest" of British institutions, Woolworths, have failed if it was funded like the BBC - everyone has to pay Woolworths whether they shop there or not!?!

An explanation of what British means might help us who live elsewhere. I know what it used to mean but it seems to have become the UK at best from what I read.

Dunno really, how many people would shop at Woolworths if the background music played in shops was replaced by Labour party propaganda?
