VAT cuts

Whilst the VAT cut may not make much difference to the economy, why is it said to be cost the Government £12.5bn!?!

They have foregone £12.5bn of our hard earned money that can be spent how we want it to be spent rather than letting the Government decide how it should be wasted!

"The [Liberal Democrats] would have spent the £12.5bn cost of the measure on creating jobs through investments to make schools, hospitals and homes greener."

It will make a heck of a difference to the economy, and ranks among one of the least bad things that this government has ever done.

It sounds like politicians in GB play the same games as they do here in the U.S.
