Blue Ken

Much as I admire Ken Clarke, the news that he is considering running for the Conservative leadership fills me with terror!! I would like to see a healthy dose of Euroscepticism in the Conservative leadership, not a Europhile who ulitmately wants to scrap Sterling.

Ken Clarke has already caused the party a huge amount of aggro surely? We had a vote, Ken Clarke or IDS, we voted IDS for no other reason than EUROPE. He can't be serious I hope. I have resisted voting UKIP, but that would finish me off.

Osborne or Davis pleeeeease

I think Osborne would frankly be too young to be leader at this stage. It would be far better for him to "keep his powder dry" and wait another decade before running for the leadership. If William Hague had resisted his immediate desires to be the Conservative leader in '97, I am sure he could have been a leading candidate for the vacancy now.

Davis is the man for both of you- a regular stand-up guy, the right convictions (including Euro-scepticism), and wide experience both inside and- unusually- outside politics.

May I urge you to sign up at http://daviddavisleader.blogspot.com/

You know it makes sense.
