Celtic National Insurance

Why does Britain help fund Ireland's healthcare system by repaying National Insurance contributions made by Irish citizens in the UK who subsequently return to Ireland!?!

Those National Insurance contributions should be retained by the UK as they cover their "protection" whilst in the UK. They are not a savings scheme!

How many other countries receive these sorts of payments from the UK? I bet the UK doesn't receive any such payments!
