Is it too much to expect immigrants working in the UK to be able to speak English?

I feel your pain...

I live in a city that served two discrimination complaints against the owner of Geno's Steaks. He simply placed a sign at his restaurant requesting customers to place their sandwich order in English.

Speak English in America? Try that in Philadelphia, you will be labeled a xenophobe and slapped with a discrimination lawsuit.

Skye, if current population trends continue in America, I understand Spanish will be the dominant language in a couple of decades anyway!
