Swiss ban on minarets

Why is the fear of "Vengeance, boycotts, retaliation" an appropriate reason for the Swiss to have voted in favour of minarets whilst a no vote was "inspired by fear, fantasies and ignorance"!?!

The vote was far-sighted. Mainstream Swiss politicians should be questioning why their opinions were so different from the electorate they are supposed to be representing!

BNP on the environment

Rather than condemning global warming as "essentially a hoax", why doesn't Nick Griffin, leader of the BNP, embrace the "anti-western intellectual cranks" and suggest that the best way to save the UK's environment is to reduce population growth by limiting immigration!?!
