Umbongo, maybe that's why they decided to remain in the public sector!
I also suspect that by the time they had totted up all the benefits of remaining as University lecturers, such as long summer holidays (almost as good as those of MPs!), taxpayer guaranteed pensions, guaranteed annual pay rises and no hassle over being off sick they decided life might be better where they are!
Who would employ them?
