It's ironic that whilst council staff have the right to strike for higher pay, taxpayers do not have a similar right to "strike" when council tax is increased.
In order for a strike aimed at council tax the whole population would have to strike, up to now we have only had some eighty year old crinklies refusing to pay and being threatened with prison. I saw that a retired vicar has been jailed, however he probably has a load of skeletons in his cupboard from the past for which he has escaped punishment, so deserves to be locked up.
Well, your Chancellorship awaits, sir. The first Cabinet Meeting has been called.
